The nature of this Phassa is quite profound and subtle. For us ordinary people, it is quite difficult to understand Phassa. This is because we mistakenly think of Phassa simply as the eye contacting a visible form or the ear contacting a sound, just as simple contact. nature of the mind touching and attending to that object in the Mind (Mano) is Phassa.<\/strong> As explained in the Visuddhimagga, <strong>the meeting and touching of three things\u2014Eye, Form, and Seeing Consciousness\u2014is Phassa.<\/strong> But this touching is not just superficial seeing. <strong>It is a touching that deeply encounters the taste or essence of the the Worldly View<\/strong>, we can live peacefully and happily in life. If we cannot follow the Dhamma View behind the Worldly View, we will continue to encounter problems in life. Seeing with the eye is the Worldly View. Hearing with the ear is the Worldly View.
